The research at our chair is focused on the application of electrical engineering and informatics within the wide field of medicine. Major areas of interest are personal healthcare, non-invasive clinical monitoring and sleep medicine.
We routinely employ sophisticated signal processing methods to adress current medical issues. Particularly, we posses profound competence in the following fields:

For tackling current problems and
opportunities especially in the fields of personal healthcare and
sleep medicine we employ advanced embedded mixed-signal system
design techniques to develop innovative wearable medical
Where appropriate and necessary, we also develop customized innovative sensor technologies. Examples include novel reflectance-mode photoplethysmographic sensors or bioimpedance sensing.
We closely work together with clinical project partners, e.g. the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin  and the HELIOS Klinik Aue .
